The Alta Sierra development was formed in 1964 from three large cattle ranches. Today what is considered the Alta Sierra Subdivisions, consists of Alta Sierra Estates, Alta Sierra Ranches, Clover Valley Ranches, Skypark subdivision, and the Birch Meadows subdivision.

The Alta Sierra golf course first opened as a 18 hole course in April of 1964. This challenging 6537 yard track is a beautiful course that uses the natural lay of the land. The course offers seven water hazards, abundant wildlife, and limited public access. The course is reserved for members and guests before 2pm. The country club also features contemporary casual dining at The Timbers restaurant on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 5:00pm to 8:30pm with wonderful dishes prepared by award-wining chef Fred Slikker. The bar & grill serves tasty appetizers, salads, sandwiches and burgers and is open until 3:00pm daily. The country club is also a great place to host a wedding, banquet or special event. In the summertime, pool side at the country club is a great place to be, though the pool facilities are reserved for members only. Alta Sierra offers several dining choices from casual to fine cuisine. The Timbers, located in the Alta Sierra Country Club offers an elegant dining experience and an extensive wine list with dinner available to the public on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday evenings. Mulligan’s Bar and Grill, also located in the Country Club has a comfortable bar atmosphere providing appetizers, lunch and dinner. The Alta Sierra Country Club is also a great place for weddings, banquets and meetings. The Gray Goose Bistro is located near the main entrance to Alta Sierra and offers a comfortable dining experience for groups, couples or families. On Friday nights the Gray Goose Bistro offers Karaoke and occasional live music on Saturday nights. Larry & Lena’s Pizza and Grill also located near the entrance of Alta Sierra offers gourmet pizzas, classic pizzas, salads, and hamburgers all in a true family friendly setting.

The Alta Sierra property owners association is a community based organization dedicated to making Alta Sierra attractive, safe, harmonious and healthy for all it’s residents. The association which is a not-for-profit organization made up of volunteers, has service the Alta Sierra community since 1971. Membership is open to owners of parcels with Alta Sierra. Renters are also eligible to join as Associate Members and enjoy the same benefits and privileges, except voting for the Board of Directors. Annual dues are $25 and some of the benefits of being a member include discounted propane and free yard waste collection sites twice a year.

One of Alta Sierra’s unique features is it’s own private airport. All guests must have specific permission and a briefing from an owner/members of the Alta Sierra Airport prior to landing at the airport.
